Jean Wilkey's magical realist paintings are collected worldwide. Jean says of her visionary paintings, "I think of these as painted meditations on how we relate to nature, to ourselves and to those around us."

Jean lived and painted in Central America and Israel before moving to New Mexico, where she received a Master of Fine Art degree from New Mexico State. A resident of Las Cruces, she enjoys painting the vast New Mexico sky and the desert landscape as a backdrop for her cornucopia of playful subjects--vintage tables, chocolate bunnies, Grecian urns, cardboard boxes, brilliantly lifelike flowers, nests, fruits, shimmering fabrics suspended from the sky. It is not surprising that Jean has received numerous awards--from The Artist's Magazine, Exploring TOSCA, Bold Brush, Artist Portfolio Magazine, the Fort Wayne Museum of Art, and Site Santa Fe, among others.

Convergence Gallery is pleased to present the paintings of Jean Wilkey.
