Felix Raven is a native New Mexican who has lived in Santa Fe since 1980. Born in 1968 to an American mother and French father, he grew up surrounded by the rich artistic influences prevalent in both Paris and Provence, as well as Taos and Santa Fe. Raven is a dual national, fluent in both French and English. He holds a Bachelor of Arts and Sciences degree, with a minor in art history, from The University of New Mexico.

Known for a broad range of painting styles, Raven's works incorporate intense color, as well as more muted arid desert hues and sometimes combinations thereof. "I often don't paint what I see," he says, "nature give me ideas, which I translate loosely into what I think are beautiful elements of design, composition, and color."

We are pleased to present Felix Raven's vibrant, gestural paintings of the trees and grasses of northern New Mexico.
