Convergence Gallery is pleased to present this exquisite new series of paintings by Santa Fe artist Carolyn Lamuniere. The intricacy of light and shadow has been central to Lamuniere's work for some time, typically in evocative interiors. And now, the painter is exploring the fabled New Mexico sky, its myriad moods and shifting lights and depths.

Celestial lights are glimpsed from afar, imparting their magic high over rooftops. Dawn rises. The moon sets. The sun floats among clouds, partway visible. Long shadows are thrown against adobe walls, across yards, and in alleyways. A moonlit sky is viewed from the intimate perspective of a window. The colors are rich and complex. There's a fairy tale quality here.

And then we realize: We who live under the moon and the sun and the stars are peopling the fairy tale!
