A resident of Seattle, Judy Prisoc paints a wide range of subjects--what she calls "little personal, quiet kinds of subjects"--with uncanny realism. Working with oil on canvas and panel, Prisoc says she is ever reminded that the potential of a subject is realized in its execution. A mundane object can be exallted or a lofty symbol can be trivialized depending on the painter's vision.

It is Prisoc's gift to awaken in the viewer a reverence for the everyday objects that surround us. A lit candle suggests, in the artist's words, "the temporal and tenous...the illusory and always changing nature of life itself." A flawlessly rendered cupcake is a meditation on life's sweetness.

Convergence Gallery is pleased to present the stunning realist paintings of Judy Prisoc.
