We are pleased to exhibit the radiant, evocative oil paintings of Mimi Jensen.
"I paint imaginary environments. Sometimes they are inspired by concepts such as relationships or balance, represented by chairs, balls, or other 'still life' objects. Often they are inspired by something I have observed. For example, when I happen upon something that hits me visually--the shadow on a drawn window shade, an abandoned arrangement of chairs, an arched Tuscan doorway--I take that one element and create an environment around it to bring it to the viewer's attention. My intent is to entice the viewer to linger long enough to see and to contemplate what s/he might otherwise overlook."
